My 05 GTI has 10 speakers and I've read that the rcd510 that I'm looking at getting only supports 8.
If this is true, can I somehow get the other 2 speakers working?

I just sold my rcd510 and also have the 10 speaker system but I'm sure they were all working. Plus doesn't the quad lock only have 4 inputs anyway ie front left and right, rear left and right

Can you share the source where you saw the 8 speakers limitation?
Never heard of it but I know RNS-510 better...
The Quadlock connector connections are the same AFAIK.

If you look up the rcd510 on the official vw website it says 8 speakers - it was designed for newer cars where they dropped down to 8 speakers.

I run a RCD510 in a 55 plate ten speaker car replaced a standard RCD300 , I think all the speakers are working and even if they aren't all working the RCD510 running 8 speakers sound loads better than the RCD300 running all ten
swap it and you'll be happy

Been thinking about this and a far I I'm concerned both head units will output on 4 channels ,front right ,front left, rear right, and rear left that channel output is then split into bass, mids and tweeker outputs by the crossovers in the door so can see why it wouldn't drive all ten speakers

Just what I wanted to hear, thanks
