Title: Help fitting a CECM
Post by: GTi-Andy on August 03, 2015, 07:33:32 am
Hi all

Is there a kind soul out there that could fit a replacement CECM for me?

I've seen the how to on this and although it doesn't seem overly complicated I'm just not confident enough.

I'm based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

Cheers

Andy

It really is easy, I would happily assist but being 300 miles it's a bit of a trek

Sure somebody will be along to assist

The CECM is above the diagnostic port.

Physically, it is easy to swap as each plug is marked and it is obvious where it goes.
The trick is not copying your coding in VCDS, but ideally just take pics of each page in the coding and go through the tickboxes one by one, as the new module may have coding in different locations.

Have a look on my-gti, I am sure there is a guide.

Cheers guys. Ive seen the guides but like I said on the opening thread, I'm just not confident enough in doing it myself. Really after someone to help in exchange for some beer vouchers!
