So I have fitted this mk6 heater control to my mk5 and all seems to be working fine until I press the AC button and it shuts of all the vents and also every time I start the car up it seems to rest the controls and there turned all the way up to the hottest temperature.. If anyone could help it would be much appreciated thanks

It's the MY2013 climatronic, not compatible with our mk5. I asked my friend who knows these stuff well about it. Sorry @Ma22789 (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=10630), no luck there...

Well it works so there must be a fix or a few wires needing to be switched maybe..
There must be somebody who knows I really don't want to take it out :sad1:

This member fitted that panel into MKVI - he done plenty research so he may know why it's not suitable for a MKV - for me it's as previously stated I've not noticed it in a MKV

AFAIK all mk6 are compatible with the new AC panel, just the mk5s aren't.

I have heard in that the late MK6 Convertible panels are supposed to work
http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,79815.15.html
The Passat B6 panels also work and have the same wiring as the MK6 panels a lot of the guys have fitted to their mk5's.
The MK7 panel looks the same as the late MK6 convertible but will not work.
@Ma22789 (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=10630) Whats your part number ? According to the following thread the pn you need is 3AD 907 044 G (Passat B6)
http://vw-golfclub.ru/forum/showthread.php?t=42611 (russian site so run through Bing Translator)
According to this Vortex thread some extra pins may need connecting
http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?4938269-OEM-MKVI-Climatronic-on-a-MKV-on-a-RNS-510-Screen-installed
Pay attention to where it quotes the following:
Climatronic Wiring
On A Connector (black) extract both; Pin 16 and Pin 20 and put Pin 16 on the place were Pin 20 was, leave the wire on Pin 20 loose (not connected to the harrnes) for later connect the Air Quality Sensor if needed.
If you have an older VW Model you will MIGHT need this wiring change ATTENTION: Please don´t quote me on this, I just really followed some threads on VWNAVI that mention this change. It did not applied in my case)
Motors in parallel:
On C Connector (brown): Pin 7 connected to Pin 10 and Pin 8 connected to Pin 9
On B Connector (black): Pin 6 to Pin 7

Not having a direct fit frame puts me off this retrofit as well. I like things to look tidy. With some customization it's possible to fit it and later paint the frame and centre vents to look good, I know. Too much work in my opinion, so I forgot about it. :indifferent:

Same here. Though i will probably attempt it should some cheap parts appear on ebay or a ready made frame becomes availible which im sure will do eventually.
