Title: horn not working
Post by: bagged_gti on August 05, 2015, 07:26:17 pm
Hi guys,

Fitted a brand new mk7  steering wheel today, and was told the airbag and horn should work.
But after I fitted, the horn won't work.
What could be the problem? I've taken the airbag out again and double checked all the wires are in but no joy.

Any advice would be much appreciated
Jake

Most likely a coding issue or if it is a MFSW the buttons could be defective.  If you have buttons, have you tested that they work?

Did the same to Dans MK5. Fitted the MK7 wheel and the horn doesnt work. I believe replacing the s/w controller fixes it

I sorted the problem now.
Originally I didn't have a MFSW where as the mk7 is.
I traced the wires and found the earth wire went into the the MFSW button plug. So I simply cut the wire and connected it to the correct port on the yellow plug.  :happy2:
