Title: Sunroof has a mind of its own.
Post by: AJP on August 08, 2015, 10:22:29 am
Every now and then my sunroof decides to open to the tilted position... without me going near the switch.

I remember reading similar threads a while ago - I think replacing the switch solves the issue? Can't seem to find anything definitive now though.

Any ideas?!

Certainly sounds like the switch...

Do you know if it's easy to swap? Any guides?

I've been lucky so far and haven't had it open itself while it's raining.. could do with getting it sorted!

Mine does the same and it then doesn't shut sometimes.

Quick question/bump regarding this.

When I (eventually) get round to swapping the switch, will I need to disconnect the battery?

Also, as a quick bodge/fix, would disconnecting the wire to the switch ensure the sunroof doesn't open at all, just while I wait to get hold of a new switch?

Cheers

I am useless and had no problems swapping the switch. Have a look for guides, I used one, there are a few delicate bits to look out for when swapping it out.

It's a plug connector so real easy to do. I swapped my rubbish blob one for an earlier lit up one. Took a while to find but much better. Maybe something to do while you're at it?

Cheers mate. Take it the switch itself has a part number on it to reference?

The switch was separate so yes I would imagine a different number.
