I am getting the steering rack swapped out and replaced with a new one by my local tuning guys. I spoke to them about maybe going stage 1 map as my car is currently all standard.
I do want a bit more oomph out of it.. I also want it to sound a bit beefier as I think the Ed30 sounds very quiet as stock. I don't want daft loud.
Anyway I saw the Milltek non resonated exhausts on eBay for £450.. Are these any good? I presume as they aren't a full system I guess it won't give much gains. Would it be ok having one of these fitted to a standard car with no stage 1 and get a stage 1 done at a later date?
Because the steering rack is setting me back £1200 I can't afford to go for the map and a full system at the same time.

I know lots of people have had cat back systems on stage 1 tuning without issue so I reckon you'll be fine. Milltek are well regarded so that'll be OK too. :happy2:

Fine with or without a remap.
It's only when you go for an aftermarket downpipe and decat/sports cat that you'll get a warning light.
The oem cat back isn't massively restrictive so you'll only really notice a bit more noise with a Milltek cat back.

Cheers guys.. I was looking at the BCS system that was on the group buy earlier in the summer..
I might go for the half system for the noise and then when funds allow I can get the remaining bits to get the full system... I have watched a couple of YouTube clips and the BCS gives a nice rumble sound.

I love the look of the BCS exhausts. Apparently very well made, and the tips sit perfectly in the rear valance. You can tell they put a lot of time into the design.
When I get round to doing my exhaust it'll definitely be BCS.

So is powervalve the same as bcs?
-
Yeah, Powervalve is a type of exhaust made by BCS.

I have the BCS sports prestige system guys, and now it has settled in it sounds mega! People have said it sounds like an r32 on the motorway and on local roads you can hear it crackle and with high rpms its too good to miss. In regards to milltek, BCS makes milltek sounds almost minor in terms of sound.

I have a BCS power valve fitted from the group buy and very happy with it, had the car mapped last week and is now a completely different drive altogether :driver:
Save like a mad man and get yourself a full system from BCS and a map, it really wakens the ed30 up :happy2:
