Title: Cars ride height for dyno use
Post by: PM30S on August 11, 2015, 11:42:15 am
Just called R Tech to book in for a stage 2+ remap and DSG map.
They said if my car was lowered they could not carry this out, they told me to adjust my coilovers to standard ride height.
I have had prior cars remapped which have been lowered without any problems gaining access on to the rollers.
Could other members with lowered cars explain how low their cars were when they visited them.
Thanks

I agree my car clears all speed bumps and was fine on the brake test with mot as this is quite a drop.
Very annoying.

There was a similar thread recently, again regarding R Tech's rollers. It looks like anything up to 40/50mm is fine. Maybe they're used to slammed mk4s turning up and struggling!

Mine is eibach 30mm and that was just alright on their ramp when i went there. Might be worth speaking to them as coilovers instantly might put them on alert not every garage can accommodate really low cars

my tyres have a gap between the arch all round.
Just had 4 new pilots and 4 wheel alignment setup. Don't really want to have to have this alignment done again

They were proper stressing me out when I said I'd bought the car lowered on springs and couldn't change it! But turns out it was actually fine.

How low is it.? Measure the arch to floor distance.

Just measured the arch to floor. From the floor to base of arch behind the front wheel is 13 cm and the height to the top of the arch in the centre of the front wheel is 63cm.
Please could others check if there cars are this height.
All the best
