Hi,
I've seen a few 2.0 TFSi engines on eBay going for between £1200 and £1500 minus the turbo.
Is this the correct price?
Cheers!
Nick.

Anybody help?
-
Depends what the engine code and mileage is, AXX (first gen) with 120k is worth like £500 without a turbo but a BHZ (s3 lump) with 40k minus turbo is probably £1750. There's many variations of the 2.0tfsi so need a bit more info really.

Hi Dan,
Thanks for helping me.
I'll get the engine code tomorrow. It's deffo not an S3 lump. Came out of a Passat Sport so it'll have the K03 turbo. 78k miles with history.
Is there a demand for them?
-
Yeah there is a demand for them as quite a few people are using them for conversions/ upgrades and replacements now. A decent one with turbo is still £1000 odd
-
Cheers Dan.
I'll update the thread tomorrow with the engine code.
I do know it has the latest rev DV and it's had the HPFP cam follower replaced around 9k miles ago. Timing belt has also been done but I suppose the new owner will want to change that anyway!
-
Right, engine code is BWA - 78k miles, FSH (Documented), new HPFP cam follower.
How much do you think?
Also, is there a market for 6 speed gearboxes? Code is SG6, again 78k miles, excellent condition, no unwanted noises.
Thanks,
Nick.

So does the engine come with turbo and/or any ancillarys?
If it just the lump (no turbo) I would have thought around £800ish
Lump with turbo around £1100ish
Just have a look and see if you can find any others and see what they're asking. Gearbox I'm sure there is demand although not as much as the engine. Depends on whether it fits other cars (probably does) the more it fits the easier it'll be to shift.
-
Cheers Dan!
It's in my Passat sat outside! Just got it back from the coachworks company after being declared a Cat C.
It still runs and drives, but I'm going to split it to make some money back so I can buy a Mk5 GTi.
It has everything attached to it. Once I reach, I think 25 posts, I'll pop it up on here. I just wanted a rough idea what it was worth so thank you.
-
Just realised the gearbox is a JLW code.
Is there a list anywhere of the Mk5 golf GTi gearboxes? just so I can cross reference to see if the JLW will fit.
Thanks.
-
There probably is somewhere but I'm not sure where you'd find it tbh. If you've got the engine/ turbo and all the extras I'd have thought you could ask £1250 quite reasonably. Good luck mate :happy2:
-
For reference the 2005 box that came out of mine was a "GVT" and the 2008 box that went it was a "KDQ", everything bolted up fine.
I'd wager the Passatt box would fit, but I don't know for sure, and I haven't seen a reference chart on my travels :( It would be very handy on the forum though!
-
So that £1250 would literally be the lump with turbo, starter motor, what else?
I'll do some digging on the box, hopefully it'll fit a mk5 Golf and that would widen the market considerably.
-
Would I need to sell the engine with the ECU, auto-box controller, and the IMMO controller in order for it to work?
-
A Passat engine sits inline and not transverse like a Golf, so the engine/ gearbox wont fit a Golf.. Itll be like VW Passat, Audi A4, Skoda Superb that its likely to fit...

Yeah, the 2.0 tfsi in the a4/a5/Passat etc is mounted in a different orientation to the golfs
