You could always try a custom exhaust place. Shouldn't be too much of a job to put a box in.

Cheap and custom don't normally find themselves in the same sentence...

EDIT: Unless its an r-tech map you're taking about!

You're half right I guess. I'd never go for a full custom system when the likes of Powervalve and Milltek spend literally years developing their systems. In fact Nige told me the R32 style mk5 system was three years in development. In all likelihood any custom exhaust is pretty much a prototype. There will be flaws, it won't be optimised for performance and sound levels, and you can't always be sure of the quality of the steel.

However, there are some very good outfits that do a neat and tidy job with good materials. In your case, just swapping a straight pipe for a straight silencer, there's not a great deal to go wrong. In theory.

I'm just thinking you might be waiting a while for that particular Milltek silencer to come up second hand. I know you like your bargains.

At least look into it and find some feedback on local places before you rule it out :)

Thanks AJP I totally understand and grateful for your help and advice in this one and I know it will be a pain to find a resonator milltek for this as a few sold when o first joined back in 2015. I think I'll wait it out as nothing is in comparison to the bcs and milltek imho and quality wise.

Yes o do love a bargain but may just have to pay full whack for it  :sad1:

R5GTT -  I know you want tried and tested but i think you should consider EMP performance if you havent already ehard of them. they are highly rated and build anything you want. loud, quiet etc.

well worth looking into

... @Paradox1 only problem with this route is that it wont be what I want eg milltek which is going to best suit my set up and having said that I know I have a bcs front section. So really want the rest to mate up nice without compromising the brands I use. Hope you don't mind me saying this but I'm kind of ocd on these things.   :ashamed:

Thanks ever so much though. Also I'd say the box I require will be more or less the same price or similar to a milltek.

I think if you have miltek cat back, some type of connecting pipe and a BCS downpipe then that is anything but OCD  :signLOL:

If you are talking about brand snobbery, then I see where you are coming from, but, paradox has said EMP do good work. Just because you haven't heard of them, doesn't mean they wont produce quality. Im sure there are people with REVO maps on their GTIs that have never heard of r-tech. Doesn't mean a REVO map is better!

That! now was a different story as these were the only things on the market in my price range  :P

but mixing and matching a custom piece in between the two is not my thing. it's like having an oem dp and cat then trying to fit two different mid and rears together! not a good idea imho. Also selling on wouldn't be easy either.   :booty:
