Tyre Pressure Light
« on: November 27, 2009, 09:39:07 am »
Last week my tyre pressure light was lit on my dash.. i checked my tyres & pumped up as they were down.

I reset the light by using the switch & has been fine for a few days until this morning when the light has come back on. I'm slightly worried as the manual mentions that it could indicate a system fault as well as tyre pressure.. im going to check @ lunchtime the pressures again but i recently got stage 1 revo & just wondering if it could have caused an issue

You need one of these beauties......

It constantly monitors the pressures and temperatures of the tyres, gives out an audible warning when a tyre gets too low with the pressure and means you have a consistent way of checking the tyres day on day for leaks etc :happy2:

It also means you can ignore the car's OEM system, which is a little "agricultural" technology-wise

This happened to me. A week ago typre pressure light came on. Checked all tyres. Rear offside was low (27psi instead of 37psi) but not puncture or damage. Reinflated and drove on. A week later, the same warning light came on. Checked the pressures and same tyre had dropped the same amount again. But this time I found a nail in thr rear offside tyre. Just out of range of repair so getting a new set on the rear.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
