Countdown has begun for the Ed30's replacement..

Finally got the Eddie's replacement ordered yesterday and will be with me in 10 weeks fingers crossed.. Will be gutted to see the old girl go after 3 (eventfull  :laugh:) years in her and many new friends made because of it  :happy2:
The car has been pretty much faultless over the 75+k it's done (especially considering it's been modded the whole time  :surprised:) and as well as being stupidly quick (for a family hatch), it's been a perfect working partner when cruising the motorways of England and constantly returning 30+mpg figures.
So what is it going to be replaced with?  :jumping: I'll give you a clue.. It's German, RWD and some fat bird has sat in the middle of it...  :signLOL:
Oh and it'll look like this... (Just for you Mat  :wink:  :grin:)



Albeit with black rims of course..  :wink:

With me now going for a brand spanker, i've not been abe to go with much spec unfortunately  :sad1:, but I hope it'll be worth it.
Gone for Alpine White 135i M Sport, with DCT (Same as DSG) box, Xenons,  and phone prep. With the addition the BMW Performance Black kidney grills and Carbon fibre spoiler and wheels to be done black pronto. Will obviously put some pics up as soon as I get my hands on her.  :wink:
It was a close call between this and the S3, but I just fancied a change and feel the S3 will be to similar to the ED30, but less involving. Plus I have always had an itch for the BM and I like the fact they are very rare. With the fact that my best mate has a S3 and there being a 4-6 month wait for a new build, it was just the final push I needed to be fair.. :wink:

As for the ED30, she will be going back to stock and bits will be available to all the vultures once the have been removed. Although my mate has first dibs for his Cupra.
But there will be:-
EVOMS Intake
VWR Milltek TBE
Autotech Pump internals
Gloss Black TD Pro Race 1.2's
Open Front Grills
and maybe a few other bits...  :wink:

So boys, look for me in a ditch near you soon..  :driver:  :signLOL:

Cheers Dom.. Don't have any carbon bits for the Golf mate (see Neil M for that  :wink:). The BM will be wearing some CF though  :drool:

New motor looks nice, as you no doubt know they can be bad in the snow, but when in all other weather conditions they are great,and feel so well made and comfortable when inside.

And as I am one of the vultures, do you have a build thread so we can see what we can get our greasy mitts on? :happy2:

You've made a good choice with the BMW, great cars, and just as involved as you are in the GTI, albeit RWD  :driver:
Be really good if you could pop in here after a while and let us know how you get on with it, i have been looking at the second hand prices of these falling and am in two minds as to stay with Edition 30 or go BMW (diesel  :ashamed:)
Enjoy the new car mate, love the edge the performance pack adds!

Echo the vultures comments aswell!  :popcornsoda:

I am fortunate enough to have this as my company car mate, so wedding can still go ahead..  :wink:

As for a build thread, I don't have one as such, but the bit listed are what will be available...
Evoms is 4 months old
Autotech is 7-8 months old
Wheels have been on the car for 18 months (were removed when I was off the road)
TBE is again 7-8 months old (had a GTI Milly first time round, so not to be confused with that).
Grills are 4 months old.

I will put them all in the for sale section once my mate has confirmed what he definately wants.. :smiley:

congrats Ben, my mum gets hers in 5 weeks, 135i M-sport cabriolet in white with black wheels. She got a straight swap for her M3.
