Winter Protection

LFCJosh:
Hi all,

So paint is in OK condition. Just bought the car, 11 years old and it's not too bad although does need a good machine polish.

I plan to get it detailed after the winter and obviously want to protect the paint in the mean time.

If I wax the car ready for winter on top on the slight swirls etc, will it be difficult to correct it after winter?

I currently use a quick detailer after washing which gives a hydrophobic layer but not as thorough as a wax.

What's the best plan for winter??

Cheers

Scoobykiller:
No it will not make a difference mate. You can wax it now if you like

Buy a tin of FK1000P so easy to apply and very long lasting

If you can the spare the time, get a clay bar kit. You'll be amazed how much suface contamination it'll lift off. It will also give a really good bonding surface for your products, AutoGlym Super Resin Polish and Autogylm HD Wax will see you through a good 3+ months maybe longer.

LFCJosh:
Ok, cheers all.

I'll set aside a few hours one weekend to clay and wax it.
