Edit: spoke to the seller and they are for the front with EBC discs and pads

That's an alternative to the R32/S3/TTS calipers. It's lighter but it isn't cheap, keep that in mind as well. You might also need to run spacers with most OEM wheels.

If you go for the R32 calipers I'd advise fitting Brembo Sport 340 mm TTS discs. Almost 2 kg lighter than the OEM 345 mm discs (I did that with my GT Sport).

Thanks for the reply

When you say it isn't cheap you mean the cost of those on ebay or further costs I am not taking into account?

I don't mind paying £600 for a kit with it all in if I know they are good and will be a decent set.. I have seen R32 calipers only going for £3-400 and am accounting for £150 for discs on top of that and then pads and lines etc.

Shoduchi:
I think you can get the discs cheaper. That kit uses 312 mm discs which are smaller than the Brembo Sports 340 mm I got for 75 £ from Amazon a couple of months ago. Right now they cost around 115 £, I think. You can also check oscaro.es/oscaro.fr, they make great prices for both discs and pads.

Not sure what pads that kit uses. Good enough R32 pads can cost around 100 £, but there might be cheaper available. Braided lines from HEL cost around 35 £ for those calipers.

PhilNUK:
right.... just to clarify

If I bought these http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=271942697407&alt=web

would they be a significant upgrade on the standard edition 30 brakes?
The fact that the discs they use are smaller than other calipers is that a sign they aren't as good as brakes with the bigger discs?

Just need clarification before buying! I really would like a set of brembos as have had brembos on my bikes but with cars I am a bit stuck as to whats what. I want a big brake set up and don't want to fork out to find they aren't any better than what I have currently

cheers!

Shoduchi:
That kit seems similar to the NQSBBK: http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?page=mods&mod=20.

It's not a BBK but I think they're a better solution to the Ed. 30 and R32 brakes. Make sure you're not paying too much for them.
