Performance Pack Badging
« on: December 28, 2016, 08:03:23 am »
My 2014 Performance Packed car has red badging, outlined in silver, rather like the MKII 16v's used to have.
However, I've seen quite a few other PP cars that seem to have the 'normal' plain silver badging.
Was the red badging an option or just available for a short period of time?

I believe the red badges for cars with PP only started after a specific build date. All early models had the standard badges as part of the build even if they had the PP.

That makes perfect sense.
I was surprised, given that the Performance Pack was a relatively cheap option, that there were so many non-PP cars out there.
Who wouldn't want (a bit) more power, a diff & better brakes?
Is that a sad reflection of the current wave of GTI drivers, or wasn't the Performance Pack available from day one on the GTI?
