2.0 TFSI problems after chain and tensioner change

<< < (2/3) > >>

Nico2904:
So basically the correct timing is when crankshaft and exhaust cam is on marks (TDC) and the special tool slide right in? If not I adjust the intake cam clockwise with chain off until the tool will slide in (still with crank and exhaust cam on marks?

Nico2904:
Requested 28 kw. 0 of reguested... so out of timing.
Sorry for being thick, but not sure I understand this. "Some have found that using the inlet cam wrench to turn the inlet cam clockwise to the back of thr engine whilst tightetning the adjuster bolt corrrected their timing, but youll need a spare of hands."

And this: "When I did mine, I looped the chain over the adjuster. Then I basically lined up the pin in the adjustor up with the notch in the shaft, but made sure the pin was slighty higher then the notch but not by much, I then looped the chain over the inlet cam and turned it clockwise to the back.of the engine with the wrench untill the adjuster clicked in."

rich83:
Take the cam cover off and get some pics of the cams. Photos will massively help people assist here.

Did you mark the cams at TDC?

dazza:
Mine is 1.5 each way of the requested on an AXX is this correct?

Nico2904:
Ok thanks mate  :happy2: No I didn't mark cams on tdc :(
