Auto Wipers, can i have them coded/turned off?

99hagued:
Disconnect the sensor and it reverts back to the intermittent mode so you can use the rocker switch, I found this out a while back when I took my rear view mirror off.

Lewo:
How do you disconnect the sensor?

99hagued:

Have to remove the plastics then slide the mirror off and the sensor is behind it. I know it's a bit of a ball ache, you would have thought it could be coded out.

Thanks for this! Mine have always driven me insane.

What's more annoying is when I've had cheap run about cars in the past that had better wiper settings, haha!

Ah cool, a solution found!

Yeah that is really bizarre coding it out doesn't work, but disconnecting it does!   It must need coding out at a deeper level then, similar to when engine sensors are coded out.

I went through a spell of broken windscreens.  3 in 6 months.  Each and every time the fitter f'cked up the sensor pad that sticks to the glass, so my wipers have never been right since.  This is a good fix!

Does it take out the night sensor as well?  Not that I ever use that function, because erm, I was born with the gift of sight and know when it's dark!!
