Is Facebook killing off the traditional forums?
Rossimac:
I "like" the idea of the Like button more than the Thank You button. Perhaps retire the Thank You as it maybe doubles up on what it means?
Could you not integrate with imgur's API? https://api.imgur.com/ For me, it's the most reliable, crap free, image hosting site. I'd reckon usage is under their limits:
--- Quote ---The Imgur API uses a credit allocation system to ensure fair distribution of capacity. Each application can allow approximately 1,250 uploads per day or approximately 12,500 requests per day. If the daily limit is hit five times in a month, then the app will be blocked for the rest of the month. The remaining credit limit will be shown with each
--- End quote ---
--- Quote ---Your use of the Imgur API is also limited by the number of POST requests your IP can make across all endpoints. This limit is 1,250 POST requests per hour. Commercial Usage is not impacted by this limit. Each POST request will contain the following headers.
--- End quote ---
And of course that you're not making money from this forum to qualify for the non-commercial licence :)
Out of interest, how much storage is needed to host the forum's database? How much traffic do you get per day/whatever?

I prefer the thank you rather than like to be honest.

To enable everyone to locally host photos would take up a huge amount of space, and therefor cost more. It's just not viable.

thanks rich now I understand :happy2:

Photobucket has gone massively down hill, try another hosting site. Flickr maybe
