Looks ace Robin,
Some really nice and unique personal touches going into your car, and it's good to see that you still have the enthusiasm (and balls) to be chopping and modding things to make them unique.
Had you thought about doing the lettering in a different colour, or just happy to have it as is?

Yes I did think about doing the lettering in a different colour but preferred it to look like it was cast/formed out of one piece of 'metal'. Also it looks more OEM that way. The three-dimensional shapes of the lettering is really good for different lighting.

Yes, I may be old but my balls still work!   :happy2:

Is that one of the genuine ED30 plaques?
Like the cover more with just the first mod done. The added plaque makes it look a bit cluttered.
Would prefer the new one on the battery cover

....My car is a genuine Mk5 GTI so I wouldn't badge it with a Ed30 plaque.

ETTO of course but the engine bay would look more cluttered if various badges were spread all over the place. I think it looks far tidier where I have placed it. Also the FSI TURBO / VW / GTI Plaque badges are all subject related and so sit together more naturally. I did actually try placing the plaque in various positions and where it now is on the carbon strip immediately looked right - It was a no-brainer as far as my engine bay is concerned.

The battery cover is absolutely the last place I would put a build plaque - Sticking it on a plastic cover somewhat devalues it in my opinion.
