Today got to work on the passenger side headlight as it had gone cloudy so gave it a wet-sand and some compound polish it came out great nice and smooth.......

Project looks great, I’ve just got myself a GTi and am going down a similar route.
My headlights look like your passenger one (that’s if I’m being generous).
What paper and compound did you use?
I’m thinking of having a go at mine after seeing the improvement you had with yours!
Need to get myself a new genuine grill and surround too as my grills have gone a bit milky looking.
Great looking car!

Hi OllieL sorry about the late reply .....as for the headlights
Try as use a higher grade wet and dry sandpaper as possible that way when you have removed the cloudiness from the headlight and come to use cutting compound to remove the small scratches from the headlight what the wet and dry leaves behind. It will be an easier job for you.
wet/day sandpaper 3000 grit to remove cloudiness from the headlights
4000 grit for fine smoothing of the headlights
use a cutting compound to polish till crystal clear,
Hope this helps................

If you want a kit to include all that's needed to restore the headlights.. I can recommend this kit -

Hi muff1991 ...Thanks again for the kind words as for the side skirts ...unfortunately i did not paint them i wish i could a little out of my league of spraying. I got a local body-shop which i have used for the past 4 years really nice guys and do a great job.
