Car at the Dealers today - warranty work! Now at VWR.
« on: February 15, 2010, 09:15:06 am »
Just dropped the car off at my local dealers today.

Its having a new Dual Mass Flywheel.  Initial impressions are good, quick input by the service manager, Techie has  checked for any damage prior to input (Nil), nice cup of coffee with the service girl, who I know.

Just been dropped off at home, was offered a courtesy car, but off all day at home today so not required.  Going to spend the day detailing the bike, and a drop of long distance training (got a race soon)!

Promised a call later when ready, and if anything else is needed.

Oh and they assure me they will not wash it, but will hoover the inside..........................

We will see...........

But good first impressions.

Clunking felt through the clutch pedal when taking up the drive.

Well I had the DMF replaced, and it was the same.  The car is now at VWR and they are removing the box, and If they cannot sort it, they will put the car back to standard and remove the LSD.

VWR have given me a MK6 1.4 TSi and it is a very nice drive, slightly bland, but very comfortable, with a lot of nice touches.  They had offered the Red tuning Golf, but I did not want it, had it for a week last time and did not like it, could not face driving a bone-shaker for another week, not my sort of car.  I was also recently told it was no better.

So here is hoping, Matt has 100% agreed that there is a problem, not what you would expect on a 2 year 17k old non mapped Ed30.  The clunk had been there since the LSD fit.

The diff is buggered, being replaced by VWR.  Only done 7k on an unmapped car.

im hoping to save my pennies and get a diff too, sounds a bit hairy though. saying that robin has had his on for donkeys with no problameos, maybe you have just been unlucky dave. i take it that the diff was all good up until 7k? ?
