Coolant system bleed
« on: January 10, 2020, 12:39:00 pm »
Hi I am replacing my main thermostat on the Ed30 this afternoon, does anyone know if the system needs bleeding following refill or will it bleed itself?

Thanks in advance
Max

There are no bleed screws in the system as the expansion tank is highest point of the coolant system.  Air will therefore find it's way out naturally  :happy2:

Run the engine up to temperature with the expansion cap off, when the thermostat opens you will see the water level drop down, top it up and keep running the engine.  When the water starts to rise again, put the cap back on, take it for a drive.  Let it settle over night, check the level in the morning and top off. Done  :happy2:
