Number plate light warning light
« on: June 08, 2020, 12:46:43 am »
So i had my MOT in march, failed on emissions because of a rusty split mid silencer. got that fixed then i had problems with my number plate lights.
The warning light had been coming on intermittently, but decided to stay fully on for the MOT. Admittedly i have replaced the normal bulbs with cheap £10 ebay LEDs. One was fine the other a bit flickery and had given no warning lights for a good year and a half.

The MOT guy decided to change the bulbs to normal bulbs, still a warning light. change the fuse, still a warning light. He ended up giving up and being nice passed me anyway and said  "it was working when it got here".

The guy said the cheap bulbs have probably broken something perhaps in the wiring itself.

Not sure where to start, wouldn't know how or what to test with a multi-meter, thinking maybe try these?

Did not know these existed when i got the cheap ebay ones, probably could of saved some grief if id done some better googling

If these won't/don't solve the problem, whats the best way to eliminate the problem?
