Good day

I recently bought a Mk5 Gti 2006 model, and I have noticed that the revs won't go past 3000rpm which in turn makes the car to only drive up to 140 km/h

The Engine light is also on
What could be the problem

First thing is to check engine codes with a scan tool.

Is it a DSG?
