upgrade stereo to a better OEM Head Unit
« on: February 16, 2022, 03:09:44 pm »
Part exchanged my M135i with a Mk5 GTI last night, the deal was done by my brother as I'm currently working away! I've only seen pictures of the car and it looks fairly basic and abit chaved up. I'm looking at going for a more high spec / classy OEM look!

First thing cosmetically will be to upgrade from the bog standard head unit. I like the look of the RCD510 DAB but sounds like i could run into battery drain issues? Can anyone be kind enough to lay out exactly what I may need? Would i be able to just swap the units over with an addition of a DAB aerial? or will I need a specific harness and software to make this work?

Thanks in advance!!

The RCD330 I believe is the go to, a few videos of UK youtubers installing them too. I'd have one if I didn't already have the RNS310!
