Clicking/Ticking noise from glovebox

(1/3) > >>

Jons1001:
Anyone else got this? Looking online it seems it could either be fuel lines (but this would only be at idle? Mine is when driving) or possibly something to do with the AC. It's really getting on my nerves now, anyone managed to get rid of it?

maple:
I removed my glovebox half a dozen times, the central heater vents and radio to try and find the source of a rattle, ticking and squeak that was driving me nuts for six months or so. This also appeared to be coming from the glovebox area. It really ruined the driving experience to the point of nearly selling the GTI. A trusted friend came out with me on a drive and poked around to discover the hydraulic brake control unit (behind the battery) had a worn rubber mount which was causing a sound to transfer from the chassis to the cabin. Might be worth checking out.

rich83:
It's probably the stepper motor for the climate  adjusters.

Sebas_theFish:
Would be the AC flap motors. Quite common for them to make noise, not necessarily anything wrong with them.

Mine does it too....was told it’s not really anything to panic about so I don’t! If you want to prove it is that then as soon as you hear the noise turn the climate control to off...if it stops then bingo! If it carries on then you got bigger issues....Golf life
