Is20 on a mkv?
« on: February 03, 2023, 09:22:16 am »
Hi guys,

Seems like I'm posting a lot recently, but there's a lot going on..

After the last visit to the garage one of the tings that came up was the age of the turbo and it may soon need replacing, whilst not urgent I was looking around local classifieds to see what kind of options are about, and one thing that cought my eye was a nearly new Is20 for a few hundred euro.

I remember hearing that it is a good option, but a Google search brings back no results for mkvs and searching Is20 in the forum doesn't bring back anything either.

Anyone have experience with this?

IS20 being the standard mk7 turbo?, won't fit as the turbo fits directly to the head on those, not on a seperate manifold like on the mk5

MK7 turbos also use electronic wastegates, so that wouldn't work either as the MK5 ECU can't control them.
