Is this ok

On the mk5 gti I need to take the fuel pump off to check the shim before getting a new one, is it ok to use the bolts as they're a one use only. I'll get a new kit but will be next week.

Yes they should be fine, just push one hand against the pump as you're loosening or tightening the bolts, don't allow the bolts to be under tension of pump spring or you could strip the threads, loosen and tighten them evenly a little at a time.
