Fault codes
« on: November 13, 2023, 02:29:40 pm »
Can anyone give me an idea on what I need to replace to clear the codes I have found on my car? It’s a 2005 GTI (BWA) DSG, I don’t want to throw anymore money at it until I know for certain what’s causing them.

Thanks in advance :)

You're not going to get any help especially with an attitude like that. You wouldn't believe how many people sign-up here just to diagnose their car, it does get tiresome after a while.

Anyway there's plenty of resources available, use Google like this: fault_code_goes_here site:mk5golfgti.co.uk

You'll find a ton of threads with the same fault codes and then you can come to your own diagnosis, or at least it will help you discover the issue.

Edit: if you apply your fault code in quotations, Google will show you only results containing what you have in quotations. Using site:websiteurl.com Google will only show you results from that specific website. For example: "p2261" site:mk5golfgti.co.uk

That search term brings up 10 search results on Google with people with the same fault code.
