dsg flywheel

Hi, has anyone had to change there dsg flywheel? or does anyone know roughly wen they wear out as im thinking of changing mine as a precaution as my gearbox is off atm.

I'd be interested on the views here as well.  I just changed the clutch packs on my ED30 DSG at 73K miles, was considering the flywheel as a preventative measure.  The garage inspected it, gave it the all clear but advised they couldn't source one anyway....which surprised me until I saw the recent thread below highlighting that the ED30 flywheel is no longer available.

Yeah had mine replaced recently by the local mechanic, i had VW inspect and service it after i bought the car and they flagged it as onnits way out, there was a noticable rattle coming from it when cold.

After replacement its much quieter and a bit smoother.

If you do replace tripple check that you get the right one, it took me a good bit of looking before i was confident i had the right part, and even the mechanic wasnt certain.
