Finally getting round to working on my pride and joy.
2007 Car with the wrong canbus = battery drain, which i simply took a chance on an ebay adapter. Which worked a treat no more battery drain and even gives me radio controls via stalk(Well changing stations) here is the ebay link =
https://ebay.us/m/EEBr6u Prior to the canbus conundrum.. Was using the scary looking fuse with cables in the fusebox which cured battery drain just constantly lost GPS. Thinking I was in Germany each day.. Plus took a while to boot up!
I also added Bluetooth with a harness good old aliexpress(would put the link, though like most guides etc.. Links and pictures have dissappeared).
I also added GPS again from Aliexpress(sorry links disappeared). Mounted under vent sat on top of flap. Which works ok most times, but has a problem with lots of trees and highly built up areas.
I now use both the above harnesses plugged into each other giving me Bluetooth and GPS.
Looking to add a Dab aerial, really not keen on the windscreen sticky aerial route and not too much of a fan of removing headliner to swap out to the original boot booster or polo aerial mod.
Seen plenty of different ebay and amazon boosters. Which look as if they can be hidden in dash. But can't seem to find Genuine Volkswagen OEM forum people to recommend one?
