As the title says I am hoping someone maybe able to help me fitting the R32 brakes I recently bought. I got these for a great price.  :happy2:
I have painted the rear calipers and DaveB has done me a massive favour and Powdercoated the fronts  :notworthy:

So I would really like to get these on before the Ring trip. I feel pretty confident that I can do the job, (there are some great guides on the net) but if someone in Lincolnshire/Yorkshire could help out, it would put my mind at ease when I am bombing round the track.
Also, I can honestly say that I have never bled the brakes on a car before,
(I know that I should know how...its just something I have never done)
So if I get some help at least I will learn how to bleed the brakes.

Will I need new Brake fluid? I have just had the brake fluid changed at VW on my last service 4wks ago. Should I just find out what fluid they used and buy a bottle for topping up?

If anyone can help please let me know
I can travel over to you or vice-versa.
Also I don't want the help for free. I will bring plenty beer tokens

Thanks.

I would like to say a HUGE thank you to Dave at PDT. What a great fella  :notworthy:

I drove up North to Durham (well near durham) to see Dave, to take him up on his kind offer of letting me use his workshop and getting some help fitting my R32 brakes.

What can I say..... Dave, and Ryan fitted them for me (in their very nice workshop, might I add) and I didn't have to do a thing. All they asked was for a KFC at dinnertime  :happy2:

I just stood watching and learning.

He then Installed a 5hr Revo trail on my car  :happy2: The drive home was just great. :driver: I NEED Revo so much

Also I would like to confirm that the 6pot calipers and disc's Dave posted on the Forum some time ago, are immense! they look amazing, and for the price, I think I will be having some, after the Ring trip.

I met some great friends at PDT, and I really recommend these guy's to anyone.

Maybe we should arrange a cruise up to PDT and have a RR day??? They have a great RR set-up, and they are Revo dealers too.

Anyway here are some pics.... (thanks to DaveB for powdercoating and everything else too)  :notworthy:

Hi Mate,

Was happy to help out on the day, got me away from the paperwork and into the workshop for a change! A dyno day would be good, would be nice to get some more MK5's in the workshop and on the dyno

Have fun at the ring, get plenty of pics and videos.  :happy2:

I have 2 sets in stock, they are a Porsche 6pot caliper with Brembo 1 piece discs in either 330mm or 350mm, complete with Pagid pads, hardware, HEL braided hoses and bolts, like so:

The 2 sets I have at the moment are just £750 each as they use recon calipers and not brand new. Spacers may be needed with some wheels.

(pics above are the 330mm)

then i see JKM are doing an offer on the brand new 4 pots... http://www.jkm.org.uk/performance/tfsibrakes.htm

Same calipers as the ECS stage 5 kit, but using a 1 piece disc instead. The VW racing kit looks very very good as well, I believe the kit that JKM have on offer is the same caliper and disc that was used as an OE setup on the Leon Cupra Mk1, which I personally and many others didnt rate that highly, but I bet its 10x better than the OE Gti and ED30 originals.

For the Pescara wheel the Cayenne conversion will need a 5mm spacer, but I have only measured this on some replica pescaras, originals may be different.

You can't argue with that Monte, big props for the guys at PDT for being so generous!

I am sure you will be glad you have put these on after a few laps of the ring! I think using the standard 312 set up is just dangerous around the ring  :surprised:

Tom, I will be so glad I have some half decent brakes next week. I really did scare myself with the 312's. Dave really is a top bloke for helping me out at such short notice.  :notworthy:

I will definitely be going up to PDT some time after the Ring trip. It would be great if we could organize a forum RR day. I could get Revo installed at the same time

You could even get a BBQ going Dave

NB07,  you really need to see these calipers mate. I am sure after my first trip to the Ring next week, I will be itching to get back there. This will eventually lead to wanting better brakes and performance mods. For the money, these brakes look hard to beat!

Well done PD Tuning.  :congrats: :congrats: :congrats:

Great result Monty.  :pomppomp:

Recently had dealings with Dave from PDT and he rang me in his own time to explain a few things and also gave me lots of advice.  :drinking:

More than likely the standard ones RR, you just need to push them back slightly to allow for the vented disc. (slight tweek)  :happy2:
