Changing from run flats to normal tyres
ollie288:
My old man has a BMW 3 series m sport and it still has the original factory runflats. (Bridgestone potenzas) He has a screw in his rear tyre and both are needing changing. Can he change from runflats to normals on the car? For the quieter road noise and reduced costs.
Cheers

Andy:
yes you can run normal tyres on run flat rim--never liked the idea of run flat tyres and no spare.just carry a tyre inflator that plugs to the cig lighter in the boot
Oli:
Yes you can, I did on my last 335, on day one, and I will be doing the same when my new one turns up - They are sh*te!

ha my dad has a 3 series on run flats but as its a company car hes not overly fussed but he did have pirelli run flats on after bridgestones (came from new) and the difference was very notable. Helps that he has an enthusiastic guy at bmw that pointed him in the right direction.
worth a thought if a plug in inflator doesnt appeal

Agreed - My dad ditched the ones on my Mum's new CooperD - aside from anything else, they are so noisey!
