....Now I'm even more confused. Why would you take off wax? Or do you mean the residue?

Well whenever you dry the car so always after washing and before waxing. If you are using an oily wax you will often find a couple of hours after, you will see slight holograming in the paint and at this point qd is perfect to give a quick spray and wipe down to re enhance the finish

i use it mainly as a drying aid and to remove marks such as bird cack etc, i prefer to use the FK 425 poly wipe it leaves a really smooth feel to the paint :happy2:

depends on which quick detailer I use. I use meg's quik detailer with claying the car and also as a general wipedown. If I'm strugglin to buff wax, I'll use it. Also use it on polishin pads to stop them drying out.
With Poorboy's QD+, it's a lot more oily and I think it has liquid carnauba in it. Anyway, I use this to treat the door shuts etc once I've cleaned them. I find it too oily (and hence messy) to use on the bodywork.
If you have previously detailed the car and given it two coats of wax, then the next time you wash and dry the car, you can buff the wax with the quick detailer to improve the shine, since I believe most if not all have some amount of wax in them.
