Help fitting a DBilas Intake for PD140!

I had this problem when fitting my air intake. Though being the GTI engine the clip was right at the back of hte engine, and really difficult to get to. In the end I just got the longest pliers I could find and bent the hell out of the clip until it lost its shape and fell off,  cut the hell out of my fingers though!

Not had the time over the past couple of days. This thing called work keeps on getting in the way!!
