No ariel on my roof 2005 golf gti

I noticed my car has no ariel on the roof but ive seen newer cars that do why is this ? I think it looks much better without the ariel

the aerials in your car are both in the rear window.

It does look a lot better, but VW changed this after your car was built along with a lot of cost cutting exercises

10 speakers, metal handle on glovebox, metal cover on ash tray. Blue tints.

Alsorts of other stuff which im sure ive missed

Best way to tell is when washing or first thing in the morning when the car is covered in condensation, people at work often ask if i have had the windows tinted.They look a bit like the up market Merc models if you have it.  :happy2:

think vw mixed what they cut, i have a 55 plate and i have a roof aerial, 10 speakers, blue tint and metal glovebox handle, but no ashtray cover

Same here 05 with rooff aeriel, blue tint, 10 speakers, but as  mine didnt have the  arm rest it also didnt come with the ashtray with cover.

There was a discussion on this before was an odd range of different specs of aeriels with or without the additional specs.

2005(55) model year 06, aerial (sharks fin), green tints, no metallic ash tart cover but I do have the chromeglove box handle.

Mfsw has dsg flappies, think they were optional rather than standard in earlier cars too.

Still drives like new  :happy2:

originally only the gti and r32 had blue tints, it was done to seperate them from the non sporty models.  But cost cutting soon saw them go back to green like the rest of the range
