What car is this for?

Also have you got an uprated HPFP?

The rail pressure is fine as long as their is never more than a 5.0bar difference. Which from those logs you haven't so that is within acceptable limits.

However Stage2+ should be requesting 130bar which is how it gets the extra power.

That stage 2+ file you have is only requesting 110bar which is stock iirc. So if you do have an uprated HPFP then the map isn't utilizsng it.

Let me guess this is Bluefin K03 Stage 2+ file.   If it is I think Janner_Sy had the same map and changed as bluefin don't seem to be able to map Stage2+ for K03 cars.

ok bluefin got back to me, he said the issue im having is down to my n75 valve...thats why its boosting higher than requested...

i have to replace it apparently....how likely (putting feelings about the map aside) is that?

i have done a little research and it doesn't look an easy job...

Are you getting any fault codes?

I really can't see that being the problem.

The problem from the looks of it to me is the Map isn't requesting the extra rail pressure.

I would get the car checked over by someone with VCDS (if you don't have it yourself) and see if you have an fault codes then go from there

I wouldn't want to replace the N75 for no reason

near identical logs to what i had on my car.  with similar requested rail pressure.  surely the whole reason behind the HPFP upgrade is that you can actually specify the full 130bar and be able to make it.  post up the actual log tables, with N75 duty cycle if you can.

i changed from bluefin for this reason.  it just doesn't perform as well as the others.

wouldnt have a clue why its boosting higher than requested though, not often that you see that

no fault codes but from what i have read you wouldn't get a fault code with this issue, i didnt log n75 duty cycle so will do another run and get it posted up asap

You may get fault codes which are related to the N75 though which could indicate something wrong

Personally i would suggest it's the map. But for peace of mind check with VCDS

Logging the N75 wont really show much and unless it is sat at 99.6% right the way through the rev range then you aren't going to know if there is anything wrong.

Log Blocks 115, 114 and 230 (in that order using VCDS) as this will show Boost Spec/actual, N75 and Rail Pressure Spec/Actual in that order across the table. It will also put the RPM in the left hand column. Make sure you use turbo mode and if possible do the log in 4th gear.

Post it up then in Table format if you can or PM me and i'll give you my Email

Im going to leave superchips now i think.

I have never dealt with sure a rude company.

Im dealing with a person in the company that is supplying the maps, he emailed me telling me he requires logs using vcds and what blocks to log, i then email back twice asking a very relevant question to be met with no reply.

so i do the logs, and email him back with the logs asking a few questions, offering to go to maybe a RR or something. Got a reply saying your n75 valve needs replacing get back in touch when you have fixed it, no reference to the many questions or information i have asked for.

i emailed them in reply asking for more information, asking if its a best guess scenario or if they are 100% sure, yet again NO reply.

RUDE.

Revo have themselves a new customer.

when i questioned them about the rail pressure being low for a stage 2+ car, he was quite rude as well and told me it was because if the torque on the TFSI goes above 300Ibft it can damage the camshafts.  at which point i assured him he had lost me as a customer.

give shark performance a try mate.  he has a deal on at the moment, i went with him and here was a marked improvment over the bluefin.
this is what you could have  lovely plateau of 270Hp for nearly 2000rpm
and thats on the std intercooler.

so i eventually replaced the n75 valve and relogged to find the same issue, the VERY unhelpful guy that i was dealing with at superchips now seems to have left and im now speaking to a more helpful guy who is explaining things to me!

The only issue i have now is that i dont understand some of it! haha

So i sent him the latest logs and he sent me:

Looking at the logs I see your actuator is possibly a little
> over tensioned but the ecu is coping by dropping n75 duty. You are
> pushing you high pressure pump to close to its max also. What symptoms

i replied with:

> At about 4000rpm you can hear the car dump boost then accelerate
> slightly then dump again, does this in 3rd and 4th (not been that fast

He then said:

> Hi Edward,

Now the bits i dont understand is the bit about the lobe? what is that? and is it true the earlier gti's had a softer camshaft material?

as far as i know the actuator is something i can turn to losen/tighten but its quite hard to get to?

the fuel pump is driven off the camshaft.
It is indeed true that earlier GTI's had the revision A camshaft which is soft, leading the lobe to wear , which in turn reduces the ability of the pump to supply fuel (ergo owners see fuel cuts as the first idea somethings wrong, usually when mapping/with hpfp). I doubt thats your issue though (but worth checking)
I am however shocked about the response from SC.
Even the slightest indication you have a rev A and are having issues then you need to get it checked. pump off, and check the cam follower / lobe for wear, not turn down the map!
buy a new follower and change it while the pump is off  :happy2:  VW may even warranty it if its worn. (if you put the std internal back in)

from what little I know the actuator is not something you go playing with without knowing what you are doing, I would only ever entrust this to a tfsi specialist (e.g JKM) who can log the car fully to ensure its set correctly. Its not something to my mind you just 'tweak'  :surprised:

as others have intimated, Id suggest getting the car healthchecked (cam follower etc) , flash car back to stock, reset the handset and sell it, then move on to REVO/GIAC/APR
(for the K03 I'd suggest REVO imho)

i swapped the cam follower about 400miles ago, im literally waiting for REVO to do some kind of deal as cant justify the extra £400 i will need to buy revo.

As im stuck with this map until then i was trying to get it as close to perfect as possible but it doesn't seem to be working.

i might just run stage 1 map until the time that i can get revo.

had the revo trial map loaded today...and the problem seems to have disappeared???

So its not my car but the software, proof.

It feels good being able to overtake again!
