H&R 20mm Springs
rdfcpete:
I'm currently looking for a set of 20mm H&R springs (ideally just like SteveP's old ones and Beddies current springs).
I'm running Speedline Audi S-Line Split wheels which have an offset of ET54 and are 18x7.5. The rear axle is also due to have 10mm wheel spacers to 'hench up' the stance of the rear alloys a little.
I often have three or sometimes four passengers in the car - Would this become a problem with that setup, are any rubbing or scraping problems likely?
Suspension is all currently OEM.
Thanks.
Beddie:
I'm running the VWR branded AP -20mm springs and have 10mm spacers both front and rear, never had any rubbing issues even when loaded with 3 people in the back but did have minor rubbing issues on the front when hitting sharp dips at speed etc, removing the screw at the top of the arch liner has sorted that out a treat though :happy2:
My Pescaras are ET51 so with the slightly higher offset of your wheels you will be perfectly fine imo :happy2:

Sorry fella, I thought you had H&Rs for some reason - tidy.
That's positive feedback, thanks. I'm not going to run spacers at the front so that should rule that out anyhow.
On the VWR website it says from £161 excl VAT for the 20mm springs - does that mean the price differs and if so, based on what?

VWR have different fitments for the springs depending on the front axle loading for the difference in weight for manual and DSG cars, if buying again i'd cut out VWR as the middle man and get the AP springs much cheaper from somewhere like DPM Performance, exactly the same in every way but without the VWR tax...

Ace, thanks again :happy2:
How do they ride compared with the OEM springs, in terms of comfort?
