What is this for
« on: February 14, 2009, 10:19:18 pm »
As most of you know i have had a R32 bumper fitted. When i picked the car up today there was a bag with 2 new reflector's and 2 other parts.
I cant figure out what these 2 parts are for. Now i havn't fitted the lower zorst piece yet as i am waiting for my new zorst to be fitted. but there is a small metal or alloy piece that fits inside the zorst insert around the actual pipe area.
Are these two pieces something to do with holding that metal piece in place as it is not actually connected to the plastic zorst insert and it needs to be i think.

the 2 parts look like little mini hockey sticks about 12in long and the part number is

                     1K 6 807 740
                        plate

1K 6 807 740 is the right securing plate and 1K 6 807 739 is the left securing plate.

Looks like it's a fixing that goes somewhere near the centre valance.

That sounds like it could be what i thought then, perhaps they fix that metal piece some how Cheers Stu.  :drinking:

I tried seeing how the above 2 parts fit to the lower R32 zorst piece today but just left scratching my head.

hopefully they are to fix the dimpled alloy piece to the zorst insert, but i havn't got a clue how.

Come on guys help me out

Thanks PG mystery solved i dont need that part,  :innocent: anyone want it before it gets recycled.

Now me final bit, how does the heat shield connect to the lower insert, My thoughts are that this must just sit in there when the bumper is fitted and the exhaust is in place.
Any thoughts.
