....Don't get lazy about letting it down gear itself though. Just 'Think Manual' and shift accordingly and don't over rev it if only because there's less power up there. I usually shift before 5,500 but I am a K03 car. Just go out and play - Be bold and experiment and you'll find your own favourite combinations and then it becomes fluid and natural and you'll never want another conventional manual box again. D is perfect for gentle cruising around town or traffic jam crawls. Whether just tootling or hooning, DSG rocks!  :notworthy:

Cheers Robin. Some really useful stuff there! Ive noticed what you mean about no power, so optimum shift is a must, but its so useful coming down to roundabouts and not having to worry as such

i had a DSG box once and then went back to a manual gear box and started changing gear without clutch  :signLOL:

I often do that when I move my polo GTI when Im at the workshop.

Always putting it into reverse with my foot on the brake only  :signLOL:
