Berks, Hants, Surrey Area Meet - February 24th....
Creatz:
a boost gauge i think is on the cards for me next,i do like that one.
also off topic, can you not get GTI as the last 3 letters of a reg
i have done a search, as i wanted my initials **-57-GTI
But i cant find a single reg with GTI on it
alexperkins:
I isnt a valid numberplate letter.
It is however valid on NI plates, but not UK plates - therefore you wont find a UK plate with an I in it!
Creatz:
is that because it looks like a 1 ?
alexperkins:
Correct
The main reason behind why it went D E F G H J - ie no I reg
Plus I think at the time they had considered reserving it for other use like Q

....Very useful indeed - I'm surprised VW didn't include one oem but judging by the one in the Mk5 GT I'm glad they didn't! It has no numerical values :stupid:
It's main use is monitoring if any problems. For example, a boost leak, or slow response, or flutter because of a failing coilpack, etc.
If you get one in a steering wheel cowling be aware that it squeaks! Doesn't bother me overmuch but I'm strange about such things.
