Something doesnt quite sit right here......
The thing i find hard to believe tho is that the ecu didnt cut the engine once max boost was exceeded.
Also doesnt the N75 just stop boost from hitting the standard wastegate, ie if the N75 fails then the spring on the wastegate will just open at the 0.6 bar or whatever its set to ?
Sounds more like a stuck wastgate to me or a dodgy map?

I had a dodgy N75 once on a 1.8T - just kept causing limp mode.  Maybe its different when its working but broken off rather than just not working correctly.  Expensive mistake though.

good read, interesting on what they say about tampering with the wastegate..

i fitted for the forge ko4 actuator on mine and it must have been done up to tite as I was seeing boost hit 28-30psi and higher which eventually ended in this

was fooking quick though  :innocent:

Yeah, the first thing I thought of was a stuck actuator and my thoughts went to Hurdy and others with the Forge product. Most folks seem to have set them up carefully and sensibly though. This is the first I have heard where damage was done...nice boost levels though

Must be a SW fault rather than N75 fault IMO

Over the top mod list ;o)

Took a while to get mine set up correctly at Statllers, but although it took some time I wanted it right. Literally a single turn either way on the actuator thread with the locking nut can give poor boost or too much. :happy2:
