Cheers for the guide.  I had a go at mine 2 weeks ago with 2000 grit but without enough of it and I ended up with an outer ring where the old plastic met the new plastic.  This cannot be rushed.  I then ordered a sheet of 1500, 2000, 2500 and 3000 and had another go at fixing the light in the week.

It probably took almost 2 hours per light but the result blew me away, especially after i thought i'd wrecked the light.  Initially i was just going to do the one, after i'd seen the difference you could actually see they were a different colour so had no choice but to continue and do the other today   Mine were pretty pitted  and covered in scratches for some reason but everything was removed with this process.

I did try polishing the lights by hand with plast x as my neighbour had my machine polisher.  After 3 hits i could see I was never going to get the sanding marks out.  I then got my machine polisher and menzerna intensive polish and they were perfect in 2 hits.  To anyone worried about attempting this, you just need patience!  Well worth it in the end, and don't do it unless you have access to a machine polisher!!

Some iPhone pics so not perfect but you get the idea

They looked brilliant Winrya.

I want to do my xenons but im too scared

Is there anyone in East Anglia fancy doing mine for some beers tokens?
Hell i will even travel 100 - 150 mile as its not something i fancy doing, for fear of messing them up  :ashamed:
Plus i dont currently have access to a machine polisher.

Cheers, it certainly wasn't an enjoyable process but the results are very satisfying   I do maintain as long as you have the correct grade papers, plenty of patience and a machine polisher, you can't really go wrong.  My solution if it did go wrong was to replace them with xenons
