dsg clunk
« on: March 26, 2011, 08:38:35 am »
Had the car for about 5 weeks now and have not noticed the following belore.

Everytime I press the break down I can hear a clunk and feel the knocking on the DSG stick, very annoying and I am sure it was not like that before.

any guidance appreciated.

I still have full component VW warranty and not sure if it should go in for this to be repaired?

thx

Sounds like the normal feeling you get through the gearknob when you press the footbrake,  the footbrake releases the 'lock' on the gearknob preventing you from selecting drive without covering the brake and you can feel and hear it operate if your hand is resting on it

As above it's completely normal. When still just press and release the brake pedal a few times and you'll hear it clicking. Just a safety feature. Same thing stops you from removing the key while in gear.
