The best tyres for traction (road legal)

(1/7) > >>

So we know that Vredestein are great for the money and that PS3's seem to be better still and that Toyo R888 are great for the track/hot sunny weather.

The thread about the Stg 2+ ED30's with 360 bhp ish leads me to ask which are the best tyres for traction in your opinion - so cost and overall wear rate should not come into it - only their performance in the dry/wet?

Any opinions?

simonp:
Don't bother with PS3's. They're noisy and have a horrible squirrelly feel to them in the bends. Definitely NOT a performance tyre!

R888 grip in the dry and excellent in the rain  :congrats:

Really? Very soft compound I take it? Think i used to have some of these Toyo on my old 205 Gti

I was thinking of staying away from Jap tyres on a German car but maybe not....

Janner_Sy:
they are a pretty new tyre as in only the last year or so.
