I struggled cos I tried with my fingers at first....and cos I wasn't sure whether or not to twist em out!!!

Pliers and a good straight yank back (no twisting) will get em out.  :happy2:

Yes first time it tried to change that one I ended up with lots of cuts and bruises due to the lack of space and it was on really tight.

Drivers side is really tight for space. I cut my knuckles in several places trying to do it. But eventualy they do come out with a hard pull and lots of blood and sweat later.

Try using the thin nosed pliers. I found it much easier

Had another go at the weekend and failed! :ashamed: Could not do the passenger side at all, cant get anything in there even long nose pliers its really doing my head in!

And then the drivers side is a doddle but the new LED fell out inside the light!

Any ideas how I can get it out without removing the whole unit?

How do you remove the light is it all the bumper off?

Rubber gloves (used for dish washing) are great here and allow you to get a better grip, they still dont stop the swearing though!

As a last resort take bumper off and remove the lights. Might need a kid or someone with small hands

Lot of work just for changing the bulbs IMO. Although that is your only option now the bulb has fallen inside.

First time I changed the drivers side I did unbolt and move the black box thats sits directly behind the headlight which gave me enough room to get the bulb out :happy2:

The passanger side was easier as there is more room on that side.

the problem with Mk5 is that the bulb has to fit down a very tight tube, oh and they are a bugger to fit  :fighting:

no they were plug & play, no different to fitting normal dim bulbs.

just wiggle them up and down instead of a straight pull. worked a treat on mine.

bumper off to replace sidelights bulbs   :confused:
