My oil pressure light came on during a hard drive. I then dropped the sump and my pickup pipe had small pieces of hard plastic in it (tensioner breaking up). I didn't want to risk changing it myself so got my local VW specialist to do the chain and tensioner.
Were these replaced as well? If oil pressure problem returns...look into the condition of these inside the cam-tensioner cover. https://www.ecstuning.com/ES2726697/?gclid=CjwKEAjw5pKtBRCqpfPK5qXatWYSJABi5kTxAEu3Fro_PDcaoBk1JN-5rCM1m1FuG671w5eFAzatuRoCb3Pw_wcB

They are known to fall apart and create noise and pressure issues. They are somewhat rigid and possibly why they do eventually come apart. I feel worth renewing any time, and for any reason, the cam adjuster cover must be removed.

No I didn't, I used a parts list on the guide that's on here but I would have if I would have known before... Saying that it seems perfect and I'm pretty sure the oil pressure light came on only due to a large piece of the tensioner temporarily blocking the strainer on the pick up pipe. I'm going on a 250 mile journey at the weekend, that should be a good test for whether everything is okay.

Got the ASBO back from her 4WD conversion and safe to say I'm happy. :innocent:

Check my build thread if you're interested so I don't spam this one with loads of pictures! :happy2:

Gave my Ed30 a clean and did the engine bay while I was at it

Car looks lovely! Good job with the engine bay! Have you had your wings replaced under warranty or something mate?

Just changed both front grills and the fog light surrounds as the old one's looked a bit discoloured, what a PITA.

Did you manage to remove your GTI badge without breaking the clips? I didn't.

Didn't have to remove the GTI badge, so still intact.

How much is the peron? And is it a direct fit no modding required?

I paid £590 from AKS then I saw sico developments are doing them for £550. Comes with all the pipes, clips, bolts to fit it. I believe there's some trimming Required to fit. Will report back after Friday. Wish me luck!!
