Tfsi_Mike:
Wow :-)
Im really not chasing numbers but looks like it will breeze 400hp. Just want to get some use out of it!
Orc:
Yeah same just want he flow to be there and it to pull to the redline as although my stage2+ was quick I felt around track it ran out of steam around 55/6000 rpm :happy2:
Tfsi_Mike:
To be honest mine was a blast and plenty quick enough on track at 2+. I'm an idiot lol
The better exhaust valve springs :happy2: :happy2:
Gti_Mad:
Sorry to read ur doubting it Mike, I'm sure ur love it once it's finished, what's an epic build without hic ups tho ?? :rolleye: :rolleye: :signLOL:

Well...
4 studs snapped in the head on removal of the old turbo. One bolt was also seized into the head where the heatshield/water pipe runs. Then noticed that the head gasket was weaping oil and water. Popped the engine out to whip the head off. Head gasket had corroded between layers.
Then saw that one of the bores was polished up like a mirror and the others were not so good either. Removed the sump, checked crank float one of the thrust washers had worn.
Head needed the studs removing, the stronger valve springs fitting, new exhaust guides (which was a first) and the exhaust valves were badly pitted so needed cutting too.
For an engine with such little mileage its odd it needed so much work.
It's almost back together but I have another job ahead of Mike's which wasn't even booked in for this much work in the first place so lucky I've even got this far with it working it in around the two jobs booked before it.
