You missed the bit saying Alex at BDM knows the most about this setup and would be the best person to use for setting your car up perfectly?!

Quite a disappointment today.  Drove down to Northampton to BDM for fast road setup after having the TT lower arms fitted.

Driving away the car's barely driveable as the wing (near where it meets my bumper) is shedding the tyre over slight bumps and bends.

BDM Alex & myself were hoping Alex would be doing the alignment as he's very familiar with the chassis but the bosses had other things planned for him.  :sad1:

Admittedly the NSF arb clamp is snapped which doesn't help by any stretch but it wasn't as near as bad on the drive down.
I would've preferred to have been there when the initial measurements were taken and discussed what needed to e done.

I'm going to raise the car up 1st chance I get 10-15mm all round in hope it solves it, will have to get alignment re checked after.

Alex regapped the plugs and changed my brake fluid and the car feels a lot better for both so a big thanks to him for that!  :happy2: :drinking:

Quite frustrated and a few hundred quid lighter

Have you spoke to BDM about it, Mike?

It was getting more expensive Damien, he offered to raise it but wouldve had to raise, re align and re check & it was already £200  :sad1:

+ £65 to gap the plugs
+ £75 brake fluid swap

when I got home I kicked myself for accepting it worse than it arrived  :ashamed:

I think if I raise it 10-15mm all round it may stop scrubbing, I'm far from an expert but I think if the wheel is moved back a little with the geometry it may help as the wheel seems right to the front of the arch and is where it's catching.

So you've left with alignment, matched to a ride height that is un-usable. When you raise it up, the alignment will be out again... so 2 steps forward and then 3 back.

Did BDM lower it from the ride hight that you went in with?

It's the same ride height as it went it.  Quite low. It has never scrubbed. It scrubbed a
Little bit since fitting the wishbones wih very rough alignment and today scrubs sh*t loads.

It was great to meet mike and work on his car today.  I'm also disappointed with the outcome of the day and the fact you went away unsatisfied.

I'm still not sure why it was an hour for gapping the plugs and £75 rather than £65 for the brake fluid change.  I have no influence on prices charged, but do state the hours that should be charged.

Were you quoted 150 plus vat for the alignment when you paid the deposit before Xmas?

Mike you will drop another 10 mm when fitting the TT  arms & gain 12 mm in track

I,d would say if you bring it up 10 you should be good to go.  :happy2:
