Yes, I noticed when I sat in your driving seat in Nottingham that the A-columns aren't very clever but I do love the Cupra body shape though.

One of the reasons I personally really dislike airfield-type tracks is that you only have cones to rely on, it's all flatter than a pancake, and no marker features, and that's with the better A-column visibility of the Golf.

Did you toast that lovely set of OEM 996TT Pads which even still had the little inspectors blue paint mark on top.........

You obviously weren't taking it that easy! Good for you!

Hi Dave - I was in the car a lot of the day with Mike. I thought the brakes were very good, although Mike did think they had gone off a little at one point.

The rears looked proper hot, not smokey but starting to blue over. We heard a a couple noises coming back into paddock and thought it maybe was from the rears..

There was only really one time at the fast  mid section straight before cutting across left that the brakes felt like they may have suffered from a little fade but all in all they were great!

I might get the tt brake vents.  Took my fogs out to aid brake cooling
Was getting some squeal towards the end.  Think the funny noises coming back in was the rears cooling back down.

Great brake setup! Even on oem pads.  Plan is get some plain rotors and perfoamce friction pads for track.

There were only 6 pictures of my car as I was giving the car long breaks in the morning.  The DVD was £15 so I got 20 mins tuition instead

With only me in the car it was okay but with a passenger there was ALOT of scrubbing.

I'm advised the ground control top mounts are stiffer and I won't get scrubbing.  I'll be over the moon if so and pretty fed up of not.

Worst case will be go back to Cupra lower arms and use the top mounts for the camber.  As the Cupra arms aren't as wide.

Well.  Fairly unexciting update.

Ordered some more oil.  It was changed last week but going to do it again seeing as Ive just done a track day.  Got 30% off Castrol Edge 5w40.  Normally use 5w30 but after recent discussions going to give it a whirl.

2012 / 2013 things to do (every plan and 'want' I can remember):

Next trip to AKS (leave there when I go to Afghan);

Ground control topmounts, possible further inner arch mod, geometry (last time or Im selling and buying a Mondeo Tdci!!), wheel stud conversion. Custom battery tray, new oem drop links, Inspection logs and health check

Niggles that are getting me down;

Small dent pulled out of sill near nsr wheel.  Replacement engine undertray.  Wheel refurb.  inspect for and remedy any carpark dings.

New flat bottomed MFSW, (May or may not have ordered  :innocent:)
Rear half of dash flocked, (need to get a spare rear half of dash to flock and swap over in a day)
large display Cupra clocks,
eBay some Oem 2009 Cupra mats, Some 'Cupra' embroided custom mats from autostyle for 'best'/shows/meets.
Change the Red LEDs ive installed to my Rear view mirror to come on with head lights and not switched ignition.

Fit oil temp / level sensor (preferably oem, the Leon has the space in the sump but no sensor like the Golf  :sick:)
Fit Polar FIS unit,
Refit cold air feed to ITG,
Fit TT brake vents, (Does anyone know if removing inner arches is detrimental or better for directing air to brakes?)

Uprated TB pipe, Okada coilpacks, Carbon bonnet.  Replace bushes with poly bushes.  SeatCopa ET35 18@ lightweight Ronals with slicks for trackdays.

Maybe; Boot spoiler, Facelift CupraR rear valance and centre twin exit so I can chop and change when I get bored  :laugh: , Hybrid K04?

Should see me through the next 18 months...  :rolleye:
