HOW TO :- Rear engine mount insert

<< < (3/6) > >>

apples12:
just ordered a red 'diesel' insert will be fitting it over the weekend!

is it possible to also remove the 'dog bone' mounting' without any extra tools other than a socket wrench whilst the car rests on its wheels over a pit or would it require lifting the subframe etc? (managed to convince my mechanic to let me borrow his pit on sunday morning)

It might be wise just to offer some support on the gearbox whilst you remove it. Why do you want to take it off anyway?

apples12:
just figured whilst i'm under there may aswell change out that bushing...

think i'll stick with one at a time and see how this one goes

Ohh ok, yeah its dead easy to remove the rest of it, just 2 other bolts. Just support the gearbox with a jack.

£17.66 incl VAT from eurocarparts btw in case anyone was wondering! thats for the 'R' version of the mount for soot-chuckers!

they dont keep them in stock but can get them either same day if ordered before 11 (i think) otherwise next day!
